John Smith is sooooo gooooood with all the information he has about Trewarthas. wow lets hope we can all share our information. I am doing stuff for a Trewartha family reunion in South Australia, in Oct 2008. lots of information around. i cannot believe how much i have found at Kapunda in SA, which is where our Elisha and Elizabeth Trewartha came to from Gwennap in 1847.

congratulations.

there is an even newer trewartha. across the other side of the world at a remote south australian town called Ceduna. Scott Trewartha, our son, had a baby girl on Valentines Day 2008. Our Trewartha line is a bit closer to Mike Tree than yours is i think, but isnt it amazing we can all correspond!!

Hi Robin,

I hope you're well. I'm new to all this family history. I started looking back at my roots late last year (07). My dad is called Ivor Trewartha Grimley. His mum was Gladys Trewartha. Her father, John Trewartha and his father William Henry Carbis Trewartha. I had much of the information but got more detail from Mike's website, very useful. I guess there's some relationship in there somewhere. I was born in Halifax and many of the family come from West Yorkshire, Hebden Bridge area. You can google or wikopedia abit of my background history. Great to be a part of something all be it very small. Great website by the way.

Regards

Robin's mother Mary did indeed run the Old Mill in Ide. The building is still there, even if Mary, and indeed Ide, isn't!

Sorry this isn't a Trewartha query as such. I wonder if your mother ran the Old Mill Tearooms in Ide. I remeber going there many years ago and having an amazing green jelly preserve with cream - I think it was quince based. I am trying to track down a recipe. Apologies if I am off beam but any help you can offer would be appreciated. Many thanks.
